Level 3 Award in Introduction to Domestic Retrofit

Overview

PAS 2035 covers how to assess dwellings for retrofit, identify improvement options, design and specify energy efficiency measures. Such retrofits are absolutely essential to help reduce the carbon emissions from homes and to help tackle climate change. Originating from the work of the Each Home Counts review, PAS aims to establish a robust framework of standards on how to conduct effective, whole house energy retrofits of existing buildings.

This unit is about the legal requirements and standards set by PAS 2035. It looks at the standards framework, retrofit roles and the principles of domestic retrofit, as well as energy efficiency in homes. It also covers energy use in typical domestic dwellings and how this may vary between dwellings.

This qualification forms part of a wider suite of retrofit qualifications including the: Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Insulation Building Treatments, Level 3 NVQ Certificate in Insulation Building Treatments, Level 3 Award for Retrofit Advisors, Level 5 Diploma for Retrofit Co-ordinators, in fact this unit is Unit 1 in the Level 5 qualification so can be used as RPL’d.
