Overview
The course explores application programming, ethical hacking practices, the creation of e-commerce platforms and data science practices. Throughout the course you will be encouraged to develop your employability skills through replicating real world practices with industry standard tools. You will also complete an industry-related project or dissertation.
You will improve skills in a number of core topics to enable you to build on the skills previously gained from your Level 5 qualification.
Teaching methods will include lectures and practical sessions which explore theoretical principles through practical activities in purpose-built labs. Throughout the practical sessions you will receive feedback on your work and progress.
You will also spend several weeks on a small-scale project to enable you to build a deeper understanding of the subject as you work. The feedback you receive will help you to get the most out of your learning.
This programme is designed to provide you with the sought after professional skills and knowledge you need to enter both key and developing areas of computing. Career destinations include application developer, web developer, security specialist, data analyst and database designer. The programme also qualifies you for entry to masters-level programmes.
