Overview
This qualification is aimed at students who intend to follow an Intermediate Advanced Apprenticeship programme or who are considering a career in engineering that offers the chance to be part of a discipline that revolutionises the world we live in. The BTEC qualification is a level 3 designed to provide highly specialist, work-related qualifications in engineering. They give learners the knowledge, understanding and skills that they need to prepare for employment.

The qualifications provide career development opportunities for those already in work, and progression opportunities to a full Diploma and then onto higher education, degree and professional development programmes within the same or related areas of study, within universities and other institutions.
All 16- to 19-year-olds will be offered high quality study programmes aimed at giving them the best opportunity to move into higher education or secure skilled employment.
All students who are able will take a substantial qualification recognised by employers as being of real benefit to them in securing work or a university place.
